The analyst who can show a chairman where every sentence of the memo came from, and how sure we are of each one.
The market intelligence analyst collects, corroborates and writes the intelligence Altuon delivers to boards in the Middle East and North Africa: family groups, holding companies and ministries. The role reads the region's sources in Arabic, from official gazettes and tender portals to sovereign programme documents and licensed databases, applies the practice's sourcing discipline and stated confidence to everything it produces, and writes memos a board can act on. It is a writing role as much as a research role: the analyst's name goes on the conclusion.

- 01Source in Arabic and English. Read the official gazettes, tender portals, regulators' publications, sovereign programme documents, filings and trade press of the region in the original language, and maintain the source register entry for each: type, licence terms, reliability rating, refresh frequency and legal basis.
- 02Apply sourcing discipline to every finding. Each claim carries the source, the extract, the date retrieved, the assessed reliability and a stated confidence. A claim that cannot be sourced lawfully is reported as a gap, with a note on what could be answered instead, and is never filled.
- 03Write board-grade briefs. Turn a week of signals into a memo a chairman reads in ten minutes: the position, the recommendation, the confidence, what would change the answer and a named owner. Write in Arabic or English as the board requires, in a register fit for a family group's board and a minister's office alike.
- 04Maintain the taxonomy: the entities, markets, regulators, programmes and themes the function tracks, so that a signal about a cement business in one country and a bank in another land in the same structure and the board reads its portfolio in a single register.
- 05Handle personal data lawfully. Where a source names a person, a director, an official or a founder, know what Jordan's Personal Data Protection Law and the equivalent rules of the Gulf states require of the collection and retention, and apply the practice's rules on what may be held and for how long.
- 06Monitor rather than study once. Keep each position current, run the alerts that show when the evidence has moved, and tell the engagement lead, unprompted, when a position a board relied on is no longer safe.
- 07Contribute to the practice: source discoveries, reliability assessments and the regional knowledge that make the next analyst faster and the next memo better sourced.
التسعون يوماً الأولى
The first month is spent inside one live intelligence function, alongside the practice lead, reading the decision calendar, the source register, the taxonomy and the last quarter's memos before writing anything. The aim is to understand why each position carries the confidence it does, and to find the two sources the register should have and does not.
The second month is the first memo owned end to end: sourced, corroborated, reviewed by a second analyst and delivered on the board's calendar with the analyst named as author. By its end the analyst maintains one client's source register and taxonomy.
The third month is the first weekly cycle run alone for one client's function, from triage to memo, with the practice lead as a reviewer rather than the author. The decision calendar, the source register and the positions that board relies on are the analyst's own by the ninetieth day.

- Sourcing discipline
- A research exercise on a regional question with a time limit. We look at the sources you chose, how you rated them, what you refused to use and where you wrote that you did not know.
- Arabic reading depth
- Reading a gazette notice, a tender document and a ministerial statement in Arabic, and telling us what each one does and does not establish.
- Writing for a board
- A memo written from material we supply, in a fixed form, for a chairman who will read it in ten minutes. We look for a position, a confidence and a recommendation, not a summary.
- Legal literacy
- A discussion of what Jordan's Personal Data Protection Law and competition law allow when a source names a person or a competitor. Knowing the obligation matters more than citing the article.
- Judgement under challenge
- Defending a conclusion to a reviewer who has read the sources and is allowed to interrupt. Directors in this region will do this to you; we do it first.

- Years of research or analysis whose output was read by people who had to decide, in a consultancy, a ministry, a bank, a family office or a newsroom, including at least one conclusion you had to withdraw.
- Native or near-native Arabic reading, with familiarity with the official registers of at least two of Jordan, the Gulf states and Egypt, and clear written English.
- A habit of saying how sure you are: you can describe one finding at three levels of confidence and know which level it deserves.
- Familiarity with the sources of the region: gazettes, tender portals, sovereign programme publications, regulators' registers and the licensed databases that cover them.
- A settled preference for lawful sources, and the willingness to tell a client that a question cannot be answered from them.
