How we hire.
Every application is read by the practice lead who would be responsible for the person's work, not by a recruiter or a screening system. Every applicant receives an answer, whatever it is. The process is the same for every role: a written application, a conversation about the work, a practical exercise drawn from a realistic mandate, a conversation with the people the role would work alongside and a final conversation with the founder.
The practical exercise is the centre of the process. It is designed to resemble the first month of the role rather than a test of recall: an architecture decision under a stated residency boundary, a conversation design for a dialect the candidate does not speak, a brief for a board that meets on a Sunday. Candidates are told what will be assessed before they begin, and the assessment is discussed with them afterwards whatever the outcome.
The firm does not hire for culture fit. It hires for judgement, for the ability to explain a decision to someone allowed to interrupt, and for evidence that the person has made other people better at their work. Those three qualities are assessed in every role, alongside the craft specific to it.
What the work is like.
- Senior by default
- Teams are small and everyone on them is expected to lead a workstream. There are no roles whose purpose is to be supervised.
- In the client's room
- The work is presented to chief information officers, chief risk officers, ministers' offices and boards by the people who did it. Presenting well under scrutiny is part of every role.
- Three regions, three registers
- The firm works in German, French, Arabic and English across Europe, the Middle East and North America. Language is valued, and so is the ability to work across a time zone.
- Remote, with presence
- Roles are remote within their region, with regular presence at client sites. The firm's operating roles sit in Turin.
- Written down
- Decisions, architectures and positions are written with their reasons. People who think by writing do well here.

- الذكاء الاصطناعيجميع المناطقPrincipal AI engineerThe principal AI engineer leads the technical side of an artificial-intelligence engagement from the first architecture review to the handover of a running system. The role owns the model and data architecture, the evaluation discipline and the residency boundary, and is the engineer the client's chief information officer calls by name. It is a hands-on role: the principal writes the reference implementation, then makes it possible for others to extend it.
- الوكلاء الصوتيونالشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقياVoice systems engineer (Arabic)The voice systems engineer builds and runs the telephony, speech and conversation layers of a voice-agent engagement in the Middle East, from carrier integration to the handover to a person. The role owns recognition quality across the Arabic dialects the client's callers actually speak, the policy engine that decides what the agent may resolve, the consent and recording design agreed with the client's compliance function, and the deployment inside the client's own data plane where sovereignty requires it. It is a hands-on role on live telephone numbers: the engineer listens to calls, reads transcripts and changes the system before the next call arrives.
- هندسة البرمجياتجميع المناطقSenior software engineerThe senior software engineer builds and migrates the core systems that everything else in an organisation depends on, while that organisation keeps operating. The role designs and implements the compatibility layers, the dual-running and the reconciliation that let a core be replaced one consumer at a time, writes the tests that specify what the system promises, and hands over a system the client's own team can run without us. It is an individual contributor role with a wide remit: the senior engineer owns components end to end, from the data model to the runbook, on engagements where a wrong step is visible to a regulator.
- الاستشارات التقنيةأوروبا ومنطقة DACHEngagement director (DACH)The engagement director owns Altuon's relationship with each client in Switzerland, Germany and Austria, from the first conversation through the proposal, the steering cadence and the close. The role scopes and prices the work, chairs the governance that surfaces bad news early enough to act on it, and is accountable for the engagement being measured against the case the client's board approved. It is a commercial role and a delivery role at once: the director sells only what the practices can build, and stays in the room while they build it.
- استخبارات السوقالشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقياMarket intelligence analyst (MENA)The market intelligence analyst collects, corroborates and writes the intelligence Altuon delivers to boards in the Middle East and North Africa: family groups, holding companies and ministries. The role reads the region's sources in Arabic, from official gazettes and tender portals to sovereign programme documents and licensed databases, applies the practice's sourcing discipline and stated confidence to everything it produces, and writes memos a board can act on. It is a writing role as much as a research role: the analyst's name goes on the conclusion.
- العلامة والهويةجميع المناطقBrand designerThe brand designer designs the identity systems Altuon delivers to groups with many operating companies and more than one script, and delivers them as infrastructure: tokens, type systems, colour systems, templates and the rules that keep them coherent after handover. The role designs in Latin and Arabic together, treats accessibility as a constraint on the identity rather than a check after it, and sits close enough to engineering that what is designed is what ships. It is a hands-on role: the designer draws the mark and writes the token that encodes it.
